CSRA Statement on the Gaza Conflict

Official statement from the central commitee of the Canadian Socialist Rifle Association Date: November 6th 2023
Re: The confict in Gaza

For the past few weeks the CSRA like the rest of the world has watched the colonial violence erupting in Gaza. Around the world we are witnessing governments and those in positions of power use their authority to silence those who speak out about the violence being levied against the Palestinians. We have watched as labour and community activists have been atacked and labelled as anti-semites. We have seen politicians become silenced and watched as people lose their jobs for daring to voice their support for Palestinians.

We continue to watch as Israel intensifes its atacks against Palestinians. Let us be perfectly clear, the wanton murder of innocent civilians is wrong and the images and videos coming out of Gaza are horrifying.
It has become apparent that the call for a ceasefire should no longer be the only call. Canada as a setler state claims to be a peace keeping nation, yet has not upheld those values. All governments of the world must hold the state of Israel to the standards of International Law. We demand that Canada stop all shipments of arms to Israel and does everything in its power to ensure Israels withdrawal from all Palestinian territory.

The siege on Gaza has already killed between an estimated 10,000 to 20,000 people, injured tens of thousands more, and forced more then a million people from their homes. By cuting of the supply of food, water, electricity, and the necessities of life, Israel is worsening the condition of those already sufering. This will not lead to a peaceful resolution.

The CSRA will continue to fight against colonial genocide here at home as well as across the world. We stand with the Palestinians of Gaza and those who seek to find a peaceful resolution to this struggle.
